A much loved high school coach has died after being impaled on a car park barrier outside the stadium where he coached.

He leaves wife Kathy, son Joe and daughter Sarah and his two beloved grand children who feature on all the coach's happy Facebook pictures.

He was remembered as a jovial man with a flair for one liners, liked by all in the school community. He was a huge 49ers and Giants fan and even decorated his house in team colors
He was said to have used his own money to keep youth football and little league alive in the California city.

'It's a huge loss, devastating to our community. He's an example of how great Rio Linda is as a school and community. This place meant everything to him.'

The coach was rushed to Mercy San Juan Hospital following the accident and survived two operations before succumbing to his internal bleeding.
'Marion loved kids, loved seeing them do well,' Adams' brother, David Adams told the local newspaper. 'He absolutely loved Rio Linda. He gave up a job that paid really well to teach and coach at his favorite school.'

We had to share "something" in our experimental class meant to help us overcome fear of public speaking, that's why the teacher allowed us to choose "anything". Most shared silly kid stuff, but one classmate told us about how he and a family member were helping out with a tragic water accident. What he told us horrified us (as tragically graphic as this horrible accident!), even though we weren't there. His face had that 1000 yard stare as he told his story, even though it had been a few years. Please get these students to talk with someone trained in graphic tragedies!
